Documents we can review
The applicable route depends on the document, issuing authority, state, purpose, destination, and receiving authority.
Apostille services across India
Need an apostille for documents issued or handled in your city? Choose your city to see the dedicated Docufly service page.
Apostille or Attestation? Choose the correct route.
The destination country determines whether your documents follow the Hague Apostille route or the traditional attestation / legalisation route. Requirements can also depend on the document type and receiving authority.
Hague Convention
Apostille
For destinations where the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention is in force, public documents generally follow the Apostille route instead of embassy legalisation. The competent authority issues the Apostille in the country where the document originates.
Countries currently covered
The HCCH status table currently records 130 contracting parties. Thailand is a contracting party but its Convention entry into force is 28 February 2027, so it is not included in the current in-force list below.
Outside Hague route
Attestation / Legalisation
For countries where the Apostille Convention is not in force, documents generally require the applicable authentication and embassy / consular attestation or legalisation chain. The exact sequence varies by document, issuing authority and destination.
Common non-Hague destinations
These destinations commonly require the traditional attestation / legalisation route. Always confirm the current requirements before processing.
Important: confirm exactly which documents are required
Before submitting documents, candidates should also consult their college, university, employer, embassy / consulate, immigration adviser and all other relevant receiving parties to confirm exactly which documents need Apostille or attestation, whether originals or certified copies are required, whether translations are needed, and whether any additional authentication is required. Requirements can change and may differ even for the same destination country.
Domestic and international requests
Domestic attestation
Tell us where the document will be used. Our operations team reviews the issuing authority and applicable Indian requirements before confirming the process.
International legalisation
Share the destination, purpose, and receiving organisation. Requirements can differ by country and authority, so we confirm the route before processing.
Important information
Docufly is a private service facilitator, not a government authority, embassy, or consulate. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or successful attestation. Timelines and final charges depend on the relevant authorities, document requirements, and courier transit.
